Q. I want you to design my site. What do I need to do now?
A. It's simple! Just fill out and submit our custom quote form or choose from one of website packages. We will then contact you and discuss the next steps.

Q. How long does it take for a website to be completed?
A. Our website creation process generally takes 4 to 8 weeks to complete from the time that you enlist Silvergear to be the architect of your project to its conclusion. Larger websites/projects may take more time, and smaller websites/projects may take less time.

Of course this time estimate is also dependant upon the client as there will be waiting periods for the agreements, gathering phase (see project process) and design approvals.

If you have a strict deadline just let us know, we will do everything we can to make it! (extra charges may incur).

Q. How much will it cost?
A. We provide you with instant pricing for our services in two areas of our site: Silvergear's custom quote form and Silvergear's web packages. Have fun putting together a project that is perfect for you and your budget!

Q. Do I need to send a deposit for the work?
A. Our payment policy ensures that you do not pay a cent until you have seen results. We generally ask for 40% of the total cost after you have approved a design draft, and the remaining amount is due when your site is completed.

These exact figures will be laid down in the Initial Project Proposal. If you go forward with us and decide to leave before the project is complete we will only charge you for time worked on the project up to the point you decide to leave.

Q. What types of payments do you accept?
A. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and checks as well as payments through Paypal.

Q. How much input do I have during the website design process?
A. Our practices ensure that you remain highly involved and informed throughout the entire project creation process (see project process).

Of course, if you would rather not worry about the project and just see results... we can do that too!

Q. Can you use my current logo and/or other materials in my design?
A. Yes! We can implement just about anything you can throw at us. Part of our branding solution involves continuing the look and feel that your customers are already familiar with.

Q. You are based in Kansas but I live elsewhere, can you still design my site?
A. Yes! Most of our clients are from out of state. Whether you are communicating over a distance or locally, our commitment to your service remains the same.

Q. Will we need to meet?
A. A physical meeting is not required. We can meet over the phone or email to discuss all your ideas and answer any of your questions.

Q. Can I update the web pages myself?
A. Of course! With Silvergear's Controls it's easy! If you don't see a control you're looking for just let us know! We are constantly coming out with new controls too so keep checking.

Also, upon request, we can give you your File Transfer Protocol (FTP) login information. With this you can update your site yourself if you are familiar with FTP, HTML, CSS, and PHP.

Q. What are Silvergear Controls?
A. Silvergear Controls are modules that can be placed anywhere within your site to help you maintain and update your site. These controls are very easy to use and always come out looking great on your website! (right now you are looking at a FAQ control)

Q. What support do you offer after my site is complete?
A. We are always here for you! Whether you host with us or not we will always be available for updates, maintenance, advice or anything else you may need.

To ensure that your project is defect free, we provide 30 days of free maintenance on the services which you have purchased.


Q. What is "website maintenance"?
A. Website maintenance refers to any changes/updates made to your website after launch. Keeping a website up-to-date is essential in having repeat visitors to your site. Updating the site with sales, newsletters, press releases, financial figures and links are all examples of website maintenance.

Q. How do I request maintenance for my website?
A. Just contact us and let us know what you want and we will take care of it from there.

Q. How do I get people to visit my site?
A. Beside using your own marketing techniques we provide SEO which can help improve your sites ranking with the search engines. We can also consult with you about the different sponsored advertising methods available for you to utilize.

Q. I already have a website can you help me improve it?
A. Yes. We can help you pinpoint problem areas and improve your site. Contact us for a consultation.

Q. Do I need a domain name and a Host?
A. Yes. If you have a website you will also need a domain name (www.yoursite.com) and a place to host your site. Of course we can do both for you! Just let us know what your desired domain name is and we will get it registered and working. You can also use our domain name checker to see if the domain you want is available.

Q. Will I get an email address?
A. Yes! We provide you with your own email accounts if you host with Silvergear.
